Like diamonds in the sky

January 29, 2013
"I chose the diamond because it represents, with its density, the greatest value in the smallest volume. And my love for things that sparkle inspired me to try to reconcile, with the seasoning, elegance and fashion." This phrase was quoted by Mademoiselle Chanel, that in 1932, revolutionized the jewerly of those days creating Bijoux de Diamants, a collection composed of only diamonds, in wich the gemstones yield the role to design and shape.

"I want to cover women with constellations, with stars of all sizes that shine in their hair." Coco Chanel dreamed already about reaching the stars long before the man set foot on the moon and she made the sky, with constellations and comets, one of her main sources of inspiration.

This is an attractive route of 3:35 minutes through this first fine jewelery collection that marked a before and after in the maison Chanel with iconic pieces that are still lighting up the sky in Parisian Place Vendome.

Her innovative and lightweight designs took a radical turn to jewelry, something that really irritated the jewelers of that time, they saw their jewels were antiquated because of the boldness of Coco Chanel.

This news was screened in the cinemas of Paris before the movies, and now, comes out this unreleased video of 1:23 minutes which was found in the Pathé-Gaumont film archives. It dazzled the Parisian socialité helping to consolidate the Chanel legend.

La vida es una joya...
