Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.

April 12, 2013
...there's no better quote to express my feelings when Spring arrives and I see magazines and shop windows all covered up with the cliché print; for me, there's nothing worse than that. I mean, after seeing that season after season you get slightly tired, don't you think?

But I have to say that when I found this gorgeous editorial, I only had words of praise for florals. The UK Vogue team managed to take the print to a whole new level; I love how the flowers aren't manifested in the actual clothes, instead they appear on the walls and in the form of beautiful peonies laid in different places of the set. Guinevere van Seenus - photographed by Javier Vallhonrat - looks absolutely stunning with that luxurious ladylike look, and the scene is completely breathtaking.

Take a look and judge yourself!

Have a nice Friday!

Love,
Amy.

  2. I understand what you are saying, but think that florals always return in a slightly different way and so beautiful that I would never complain about those wearable blooms. It's spring, after all. It's time for flowers, cherry blossoms and everything beautiful. :)

    1. Yes, that's true! I have many many clothes with floral print and all of them are lovely and different from each other, but yeah, when the springtime comes they're bassically in every magazine and store and you get a bit... annoyed? I don't know, but either way floral prints are beautiful! x

  3. I tend to agree with you on the florals. While a hint - say a pair of floral heels or a small-scale print layered underneath a solid can be nice, they are usually overblown. Especially on curvier women like myself, we can look like a gaudy ship in full sale or a clown. Plus, it brings back so many memories of those atrocious Laura Ashley dresses we wore in the 90's. I just can't wrap my head around it! That being said, I do love this shoot. The model is the epitome of retro glamour, and I love the fact that they let the flowers stay where the belong: in nature.
