Fashion Week is definitely the principal event of the year for any fashionista worth her salt; but, Resort collections are somewhat similar to a short, breezy and fresh trip that takes you away into your wanderlust dreams - well, at least for a while. A collection that left me in absolute awe was Valentino's...
It all commenced with a quite folsky appeal, completely unexpected for me - with some sort of preppy and military style, high-waisted jeans, perfect cable-knit sweaters, jumpsuits and short pleated skirts; all of this in shades of navy blue, nude and powder pink with occasional striped looks. Which, of course, were paired with a classic brown riding boot and leather tote.
And suddenly, as if we were instantly transported into Paris' Haute Couture, it all started to slowly metamorph into some kind of fairytale - ultra-romantic lace dresses, intricate embroideries and lush florals with tiny blooms, and multicolor macramé stitched on raw linen onto long dresses and skirts.
Structured and clean cut looks appeared, and mixed with the lovely lace pieces that appeared at the end of the show, created the perfect combination. So fresh, so fascinating.
