A walk around LE LOUVRE

August 25, 2013
One of my favoutrite pastimes ever since I was a child, is to spend endless hours wandering the echoing halls of museums and art galleries, breathing in the history and marveling at each brush stoke, staring at the breathtaking works of art hanging from the walls decorated with gilded frames... and whether it is impressionism  - Monet (a favourite), Renoir, Pissaro or Degas... -, post-impressionism - Cézanne, Van Gogh, Signac... - or romanticism - Goya, Delacroix, Cole... -  I always find myself lost in every painting and the astonishing stories that are surely hiden inside them; as well as always finding a connection to fashion on each and everyone of them.

The most magnificent museum I have ever been has to be Le Louvre. With collections ranging from Egyptian antiquities to paintings (the Mona Lista and her mysterious smile is the first thing that comes to your mind, isn't it?), prints and drawings; you can't help but fall in love with every detail of the incredibly excesive rooms - from Napoleon III's aparments to the Apollo Galery. The ceiling, the moldings, the furniture, the majestic sensation that everything conveys...

...there is just something so magical about being enveloped in such stunning creativity, I guess.

  1. I so want to visit the Louvre now, even more than before. It seems like the most amazing place. And I loved that quote by Thomas Merton - so true.

  2. Gorgeous photos. I love the vintage feel of them. I've been to Paris a number of times but have never been inside the Louvre. Definitely will have to now!

  4. These photos are amazing! Even with a little paragraph you writing is amazing :) I hope to go to Paris some day and when I do I'll make sure to visit. I just found your blog and really love it, you write really well and it's nice to read a blog by someone around my age (I'm 14!) who has a strong opinion on what they like and very literate and sounds educated beyond their age.
