PURE freshness at BCBG Max Azria

September 07, 2013

Although summer is pretty much over, spring is among us. How? Because it's Fashion Week! And the looks is saw at the insanely elegant, yet effortless and restrained BCBG show were enough to transport me into a warm fantasy. I fell in love with the  light colour palette {white, light gray, baby blue, powder pink, and at some point it all emerged into florals} with light weight fabrics which made me long for the summer. Although the looks were a bit simplistic, there were interesting shapes created with the cuts and layering of the fabric as it floated down the runway - from shirt dresses and loose fitting flowing pants, to pencil skirts and cropped tops; the styling of each look had a rumpled yet tailored feeling to them. A clear example of everything that is cool and modern without trying too hard.

The collection ended with mostly black pieces, like the embroidered long black gown above, as well as sheer fabrics and floral prints which were at time very dominant and at times barely visible, but still present enough to give that special touch to the whole look. It was understated edge with a strong sense of femininity; perfect for any modern woman who wants to be taken seriously but also wants to stand out.

  1. What a great collection! It's ladylike without being too girly. That last black embroidered gown is absolutely stunning!
