Saffiano VERNICE

November 26, 2013
In an attempt to add a few more classic pieces to my wardrobe, I have been looking for the perfect black designer bag for quite a long time. I was determined to find a handbag that I could pair with anything, but seeing as the ones I seemed to like the most were the ones with the highest price, I gave up and stopped looking for a while.

To my surprise, a few days ago I received a really special present from my dearest mother. 'Merry early Christmas', she told me; and upon opening the packaging, I was delighted to find a beautiful patent leather bag, and it is quickly become one of my favorite bags to carry . . .

It’s my first Prada handbag, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect in terms of quality and design, but this bag blew right past all of my expectations. The bag itself is incredibly light, but the leather is stiff and interesting - it has a sheen to it not unlike patent leather, but where patent can sometimes look rather cheap, the saffiano vernice leather has a slight crosshatch texture which helps to give it richness and depth. It is also sturdy, and so the bag holds its little dome shape well no matter how much I cram inside. . . what else can I say? I'm in love.

There goes another item crossed off my bucketlist!

  3. I so love it too! I actually took a lot of pictures of it, but since I'm both an awful photographer and a total perfectionist I ended up discarding all of them except this one. Hopefully I will feature the bag soon on an outfit post! X

  5. Definitely black. I feel like it wouldn't look as aesthetically pleasing in grey paired with the golden details; and I also feel like black is a lot more versatile than grey - but of course it's a matter of tastes. X
