The slip dress

December 06, 2013
Something I couldn't simply get out of my head after seeing Louis Vuitton's A/W 2013 evocative collection - apart from the astrakhan coats, printed silk brassiere-and-slip sets, peignoirs lined with plush fur, skirtsuits stitched with degradé embroideries & oversize men's coats decorated with deep feather hems - whilst stalking Style.com last March were the intricate lace details. They were somehow very subtle, but still managed to catch my atention to the point of making me lust over this gorgeous slip dress among many other garments with similar carachteristics (see this lovely Zara version).

There is just some delicate and special feeling about lace, something that instantly gives you the desire to book a getaway to somewhere glamorous like Paris or Milano. . . and I'm not talking abour all-lace ensembles, but what I utterly adore is this completely re-defined and chic way to wear this trend, making it look as if you were wearing a lingerie piece... all in the details. Totally feminine but without overdoing it. I love how you can style these kind of lacey elements with more tailored or masculine items, such as a top paired with a sharp blazer or a slip dress with a leather jacket. They absolutely create a to-die-for fall look, and I honestly am so glad lace is back in collections in all shapes and forms.

What are you waiting for to step outside with your slip dress? If Victoria Beckham can wear it, so can you!

  1. The slip dress is pretty with a nice chunky knit over it.

  4. Definitely. Just like Hanneli Mustaparta wears it in the 7th image.

  7. Yes, of course. How boring would the world be if we all liked the same things! That's so nice of you to say, thanks again. Xx
