A window into women's souls at Dior

January 21, 2014
SOME PEOPLE HAVE classified the Christian Dior Haute Couture spring 2014 collection as 'a dissapointment', some even state that it is the worse Raf Simons has designed for the brand; and I couldn't disagree more. In my opinion, it's the best job Mr. Simons has done yet... it was a new & more modern approach to couture (with sneakers included), it was a free, light and incredibly delicate collection. There were lovely summer coats, tailored trousers paired with bustier tops, stunning cocktail dresses and the reason for this post - my absolute favourite look, an absolutely gorgeous white swingy & voluminous skirt paired with an equally swingy jacquard top which was decorated with a somehow intriguing graphic that makes you feel as if you are taking a peek into the model's soul...

This ensemble-looking dress is something I would most definitely wear (if I had a few thousands to spare, that is), and the whole collection is youthful, fresh & subtly elegant with a touch of sweetness that I absolutely adore... now that's what I call modern thinking.

What do you think? Love it or hate it?

  2. I also thought that he wasn't the right choice for Dior at the beginning, but I think Raf Simons is trying to adapt the classic Dior aesthetic & silhouette and make it more wearable, you can actually see yourself wearing his designs - they're much more realistic than Galliano's (both are terrific designers though). But that's just my opinion! X

I absolutely love the dress. Gorgeous! The simplicity of it makes it completely wearable, however it still has that luxurious element, that you would only find in Dior. And I love the peek into her soul aspect! X

  5. I absolutely love Dior (and Chanels) 's youthful take on couture. The outfit you selected shows the modern cut and the red lips are just what was needed to display youth.
